RC 50 Anos de Música
Banco Itaú paid tribute to Roberto Carlos on the 50th anniversary of his career, sponsoring various promotional activities for the project. 2009 was full of celebrations, which ran through to 2010: three trucks full of equipment crossed the country from north to south for the execution of 46 shows, and a further 23 abroad.
Two special shows were produced: “Elas Cantam Roberto Carlos” (They sing Roberto Carlos) (18 Brazilian divas singing Roberto’s songs) and “Emoções Sertanejas” (Emotions from the “Sertão”) (Roberto Carlos in the voice of sertanejo artists), which became specials for TV, CD and DVD;
A spectacle in the Maracanã stadium, for 70 thousand people, shown throughout the entirety of Brazil by Rede Globo and also throughout the world by international Globo;
A series of special programs by the broadcaster, such as “Globo Repórter”, “Caldeirão do Huck” and “A Grande Família”;
The exposition “Roberto Carlos 50 years of Music” for three months in the OCA, (Parque Ibirapuera, in São Paulo) with more than 100 thousand visitors;
Show in Madison Square Garden, in New York, in conjunction with Radio City New York;
Tribute from Nestlé, official sponsor of the artist, who created a panettone with the artist’s name and gave away fifty copies of Roberto’s old-fashioned car;
Commercialization of the Emotions Collection, of Amsterdam Sauer jewelry; and, finally:
Tribute from the Escola de Samba Beija-Flor, in a themed parade entitled “The simplicity of a King”. Which led to the title of Champion of the Rio de Janeiro Carnival in 2011.
