EMOTIONS PROJECT IN JERUSALEM
A meeting of music and faith, uniting tourism and entertainment in a dive into the history of humanity with a more than 3000-year old backdrop. This was the Emotions Project in Jerusalem with Roberto Carlos as host on a trip around Israel’s sacred sites, ending with a show on the 7th September at Sultan´s Pool, an amphitheater in Jerusalem where erudite music concerts and performances of famous operas take place in the summer. An unforgettable moment, a show in an epic space.
With the expertise in putting on big projects, among them “Emotions at Sea” where more than 3000 passengers are served every year, the idea to travel to the sacred city was developed. It was seven nights with trips to the old city of Jerusalem (The Wailing Wall, The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Via Sacra, the Mount of Olives...), Bethlehem, the Sea of Galilee, Capernaum, Nazareth, the Dead Sea and ended with a big show at Sultan´s Pool located in the Valley of Hinnom, next to the Tower of David, near to Mount Zion, location of the Last Supper, near to the walls of the Old City.
On the night of 7th September 2011, under a starry sky, for a crowd of 5000 people, Roberto Carlos came to the stage, with a backdrop replicating the Sacred city of Jerusalem with its architectural symbols. Accompanied by his orchestra he sung his hits in English, Spanish, Italian, French and Portuguese, and for the performance of “Jerusalém Toda de Ouro” in Hebrew, he fell back on 12 Israeli musicians and a 30-person choir.
The show was recorded by Rede Globo and rebroadcasted in Brazil and more than 115 countries around the world and resulted in the release of a CD, DVD and Blu-Ray by Sony Music, including the Roberto Carlos’ journeys to historic sites, such as the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre, Gethsemane, the Architectural Site Ha’Ofel, the Wailing Wall and the Judean desert.
