David Copperfield no Brasil
In 1989 the American magician was a success on Sundays on Rede Globo’s programme ‘Fantástico’ where he showed his abilities in crossing the Great Wall of China or freeing himself from chains tied to his body from the seabed. DC Set realized the dream of many of the illusionists’ fans, bringing him for appearances in Rio and São Paulo and ran marketing campaigns with the sponsor Brastemp, such as the visit of the artist to the São Paulo Domestic Goods Fair.
In 1997, David Copperfield returned to Brazil with the show ''Dreams and Nightmares'' which debuted on Broadway, New York.
“I use magic to tell stories and exchange energy with the audience. It is my form of expression,” said Copperfield to explain the essence of his show which, among the tricks shown in the show, was the number in which he “flew over” the audience.
Along with the promotion and production of the show, DC Set had a partnership with the sponsor Ponto Frio for Copperfield to act as a poster boy. Upon arriving in Rio de Janeiro, the illusionist went straight to the recording of five commercials for a lightning campaign broadcast from 11th to the 30th of June, in a USD ($) 2.5 million investment. Alongside the actor Antonio Fagundes, the then protagonist of the network’s campaigns, Copperfield confirmed that Ponto Frio is “good in price, customer service and in credit.”
